Our company (unitel Bürosysteme oHG) was founded in february 1992 and is working in the IT sector as a solution and service provider. Customers are served with individual system solutions throughout Germany. As an important pillar the first office planning software 3D office was created as a part of the 3D program "alias upfront" in the year 1994.
The first version was nothing more than an item list to manage commercial data, alias upfront served to show 3D graphics. More or less 3d office was used just for internal purposes and didn't get published.
As we developed 3D office further to version 2, the first contract for a simple office planning was made with the office furniture manufacturer MBT in 1998.
The second version contained more functions, was more user-friedly, was more clearly arranged and thus introduced to the public.
With version 2 the "Lader" - to load office furniture - was created, which is still in use today. Furthermore the integration with "alias upfront" was improved.
With the third version of 3D office a planning system was integrated into the product (based on the magnet planer-system which was used to plan usually).
The software should have been used as simple as the "real" magnet planner but much more versatile in functionally and individuality.
The success was not long in coming. In the same year the complete program "3D office version 3" was introduced at ORGATEC.
Version 3 was the first to contain an own 2D planning and 3D world based on OpenGl.
Over time the "FOS" data standard has been established in the office furniture industry which is still used by some manufacturers until now.
With an eye on supporting data from multiple manufacturers in one planning, which was now possible with the FOS data format, 3D office began supporting this format from version 4 onward.
The planning software is based on three pillars ever since: A 2D planning, an item list and a 3D world.
It wasn't only important to our customers to have a planning tool but also having an extensive merchandise management.
Therefor "3D office sales" was introduced into the 3D office product family in 2004 which based on the traders rquirements and gave them a management system besides the planning software.
